Wait, how do you make money?
Fair question. When someone hands you point of sale, lockers, pickup and delivery, payments and SMS for nothing a month, you should ask what the catch is. Here is the whole model, with nothing left out.
Software became a commodity. We priced it like one.
A few years ago a point of sale for a dry cleaner cost a team of engineers a year to build, and vendors charged accordingly. AI changed the economics of writing software so completely that the code itself is now close to free to produce. We think that saving belongs to you. Why pay thousands of dollars a year in subscriptions for something that costs almost nothing to make?
So Laundry Wise software has no monthly fee, no setup fee, no tiers and no contract. Counter, lockers, delivery, payments, notifications and reporting, all included, for every operator.
Two ways we earn. Neither is hidden.
We are a hardware company first and a payments partner second. The software is how the two connect.
We sell the lockers
Well-made steel towers with battery keypad locks, priced competitively and shipped worldwide with a 5 year warranty. From $575 per locker at 5 units to $300 at 50, freight included. That is our main line of revenue, and it is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
See the lockers and pricingA small share of the card fee
Every card payment already carries a processing fee. We partner with the payment provider and keep a small, configurable percentage of that fee. It is split off automatically before settlement, so there is never an invoice from us. When your tills are quiet, we earn nothing.
How payments workThis does not change the price for your customers.
Our share sits inside the card processing fee, at market rates. Your customers pay the same for a wash-and-fold or a suit clean as they would with any other system, and you keep the same margin you would with any other processor. The only thing that disappears is the software bill.
Built by people who have done the laundry.
Laundry Wise combines decades of experience in the dry cleaning and laundry industry with the team that has shipped laundry lockers to 100+ operators in 7+ countries since 2012. We have stood behind the counter, run the routes, and answered the 10pm calls about a locker that would not open. That experience is in the hardware, in the software, and in the sales pack, and none of it is sold back to you as a monthly fee.
What you never pay for
The one metered item is SMS marketing, billed per message at a price you set and see. Transactional texts to your customers are part of the card fee model.
Questions people ask about the model
Is the software really free, or free for now?
Free, with no plan to charge a subscription. Our revenue comes from hardware and the payments share, and both grow when your business grows. Charging for software would cut against that.
What if I do not use your payments?
You can run the software with cash and your own terminal, recording payments on the order. We would earn nothing from you until you buy lockers, and that is fine. Most operators switch to the built-in payments because QR-to-pay and card on file remove work at the counter.
What is the share, exactly?
A small number of basis points of card volume, set per operator and shown in your settings. Card processing itself is at market rate through our payment partner. The comparison page shows what CleanCloud, Cents and the others charge on top of their subscriptions.
Do I have to buy your lockers to use the software?
No. Plenty of operators start with the counter and delivery and add lockers later. The locker workflow is built for our hardware, but any battery keypad locker that can be left open when free works with it.
Will you raise prices once I am locked in?
There is nothing to lock you in. No contract, no data held hostage, and customer and catalogue exports are a support request away. If we ever changed the model, you could leave the same afternoon.
